Technical Officer: Wood and Biofibre Technologies Crown Research Institute Scion undertakes research, science and technology development in forestry, wood product and wood-derived materials and other biomaterials sectors. Our leading edge Wood and Biofibre Technologies team, which is active in global partnerships, is seeking a technical officer. Ideally you will have an MSc in material sciences, preferably with some post-degree research and development experience or be an engineer, with an equivalent degree and research or industry experience. You will work in our Biofibres program and other programs concerned with developing new products using wood and wood fibre in bioplastic and biomaterial matrices. Experience with scanning technologies or image analysis or product development is an advantage. This role requires a person who is flexible and able to work in both large and small project teams. Evidence of acquiring multiple skill sets and experience of collaborative projects is an advantage. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and will contribute at an appropriate level to the preparation of technical reports and publishing journal articles.
