18 SEPTEMBER 2024 all over the World
We are excited to launch our new website [https://www.worldbamboo.net/] celebrating the growth of the World Bamboo Organization and to do so today, on World Bamboo Day. We are so grateful for your encouragement and ongoing support over these many years and are proud to offer this inspiring new site to you. We hope it will enhance your own engagement with us and help you celebrate and share your passion for bamboo with others.
As you know, the deep roots of this extraordinary grass are found in the history of many countries and peoples around the world. Preserving that heritage is crucial. So, too, is supporting its contemporary propagation and use as an integral part of the bridge to a sustainable future for humanity and all life on the planet, a bridge we are not finished building. This new website [https://www.worldbamboo.net] will allow us to reach a broader audience with whom we can share bamboo’s rich potential and the many possibilities for use that many may not yet have considered. Indeed, spreading awareness of the rich potential of bamboo has always been our work and we remain committed to it!
Our Ambassadors [https://www.worldbamboo.net/team-2] are global leaders exploring and innovating on the forefront of their own professional expertise. Within its wide spectrum of uses, both traditional and unconventional, they study, preserve, propagate, farm, create, test, feed, design, build, teach, house, educate, and inspire. Over the coming months, we will bring you into conversation with many of them, sharing their inspirational stories and news of their endeavors whenever we can pull them away from their grassy passion long enough to catch us up on what they are doing!
As communities around the world celebrate, we invite you to dream of the potential bamboo can offer your industry, company, community, or family. Talking about bamboo might seem a natural thing to do if you live in a region where it is already part of your community and daily life. We’re confident that those who live outside regions where bamboo is naturally propagated, where conversation rarely turns toward this magnificent plant, will be enthralled by its resilience and the many possibilities that exist beyond bamboo cutting boards and disposable cutlery (both excellent alternatives to plastic!). We hope our new website [https://www.worldbamboo.net] will encourage all conversations and help build a worldwide passion for bamboo. Thank you for doing your part in making that vision a reality!
It is extraordinary to witness interest in bamboo rising in every sector. Bamboo is showing up in conversations about how the future will be designed and lived. The World Bamboo Organization’s role has become extremely important and our website is a portal for both the curious and the committed. As we launch this new site, we invite you to help us strengthen our commitment to the preservation of traditional knowledge and the development of future solutions by strengthening your own personal commitment to this important work. The WBO is enormously grateful to our Supporting Partners [https://www.worldbamboo.net/partners] who are mutually committed to bamboo and support our mission. Without them, the creation of this new website would not be possible!
Thank you for all you do to promote the work of the World Bamboo Organization [https://www.worldbamboo.net] and for being a supporting presence for us. We are grateful for your encouraging accompaniment on this exciting journey.
Susanne Lucas, Executive Director, WBO and all the WBO Ambassadors
