Partners in this event are the Ibero-American Model Forest Network (RIABM), FAO and several IUFRO member organizations in the region. The overall goal of the Congress is to demonstrate how forest science is impacting on livelihoods, environment and sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean Region. The Congress will highlight research that puts relevant information in the hands of decision makers in the management and policy arenas at national and regional levels. The Congress organisers welcome all interested parties to submit abstracts in order to share and discuss research results, new ideas, approaches to forest and landscape management, experiences, conceptual models and initiatives of interest. The first call for submission of abstracts is attached here. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 December 2012. Official languages of the Congress will be Spanish and English.
