LAST CALL FOR PAPERS (Extended deadline : September, 10th 2011) The WOODCHEM 2011 ( <http://www.woodchem.fr/> www.woodchem.fr) Congress is an international scientific conference which provides an excellent opportunity for discussion and exchange of knowledge between scientists, engineers, industrials and other specialists having an interest in topics related to Chemical and Biochemical valorization of wood and the corresponding biomass. WOODCHEM 2011 will take place in Strasbourg, France on December 1st and 2nd, 2011. The congress is organized by both the University of Strasbourg and the French Fibers Innovative Cluster. WOODCHEM 2011 will cover a wide range of topics related to wood valorization and wood-based products and will provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, technology developers, practitioners, policy makers and government officials to showcase leading-edge technology for future sustainable large scaled wood-based industries. Our organization and technical committees are dedicated to the organization of a rewarding congress for all participants. It is our pleasure to invite authors to contribute with oral communications and posters related to the topics covered by the congress and to participate in WOODCHEM 2011. Topics of the congress The Woodchem® 2011 conference will focus on the biochemical and chemical valorization of wood and its by products. We expect technical science contributions on the following topics : · clean extraction processes · biorefinery towards green materials and processes · market applications The program is as follows: December, 1st 2011 Session 1 Wood biomass and biorefinery Session 2 Biochemical modification processes for the biomass Session 3 Chemical modification processes for the biomass December, 2nd 2011 The 2nd day is dedicated to market applications: Session 4 Chemical industries (Building blocks) Session 5 Healthcare and Hygiene Session 6 Transportation / automotive Session 7 Building and housing Keynote Speakers - Jack SADDLER (Canada) - Michael O’ DONOHUE (France) - Roger ROWELL (USA) - Serge TRETJAK (France) Call for papers We invite authors to contribute with original papers related to the topics covered by Woodchem® 2011 for presentation at the congress. The submitted abstracts and full papers will be subject to peer review. Papers accepted for oral presentation will be given 20 minutes presentation time. Abstracts Authors should carefully read the instructions on the internet site here Deadlines for abstracts extended to September, 10th 2011 Acceptance communicated no later than September, 30 th 2011 Abstracts must be submitted to the following address: pascale.bridou(a)wanadoo.fr Full paper Once the abstract is accepted the selected authors can submit a full paper for publication in the Cellulose Chemistry and Technology Journal, with which an agreement has been made for the edition of a selection of papers in full format.
