Subject: Call for Papers - Polymeric Materials from Renewable Resources - Pacifichem 2010
International Chemical Congress of Pacific Basin Societies
Pacifichem 2010
December 15-20, 2010
Honolulu, Hawai'i, USA
Dear Colleague,
We invite you to submit a paper to the Symposium on Polymeric Materials from Renewable
Resources.<http://www.pacifichem.org/symposia/c_symp_6.htm> Your participation
will make a valuable contribution to Pacifichem 2010.
Polymeric materials from renewable resources are very important for the conservation and
protection of the global environment while maintaining a standard of living. Replacement
of petroleum-based plastics and polymeric materials is highly desirable and can offer
economic and environmental advantages. With the continuing interest in biofuels, bioenergy
and alternate energy sources, the use of agriculture (plant, animal, land, marine) plays a
vital role in the development of bio-based chemical feedstocks. This symposium will
emphasize the conversion, synthesis, use, and environmental fate of agriculturally-derived
polymers for a variety of value-added products. It will also discuss policy issues with
respect to global political and economic issues.
The International Chemical Congress of Pacific Basin Societies
(
Pacifichem)<http://pacifichem.org/> is sponsored jointly by the American Chemical
Society, the Canadian Society for Chemistry, the Chemical Society of Japan, the New
Zealand Institute of Chemistry, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, the Korean
Chemical Society, and the Chinese Chemical Society.
