[IUFRO Div 5] IUFRO Division 5 / SWST Conference 2027 - call for sessions - NEW DEADLINE 15th April 2026

Dear colleagues: The preparation of our next IUFRO All-Division 5 conference - jointly organised together with the Int. Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST) - in 2027 in Tartu, Estonia, is progressing, and the main task at this stage is putting together an attractive programme. The call for sessions is still open and the deadline for submission is extended from of 15th March 2026 to 15th of April 2026 for the submission of session proposals. We are all too aware that everybody is very busy and people work against deadlines. Nonetheless, take up the chance and team up with colleagues and contact coordinators and their deputies of the numerous research groups and working parties of IUFRO Division 5 (https://www.iufro.org/divisions/50000-forest-products ) if you are interested to organise a session at the IUFRO Division 5 conference and to create a session proposal. Also cross-linking to other IUFRO divisions' research groups and working parties is a good idea as this reflects on the diversity of topics related to forest products within the sphere of forest science. The conference will address several key topics, including: * Future Wood: Climate smart forest management and silviculture for forest tree growth, wood yield and quality. * Wood Science: From wood anatomy to the analytics of mechanical, physical and chemical properties. * Wood Valorization: Innovative approaches of wood engineering and wood technologies to convert biomass into energy, chemicals, fibers, and high-performance composites. * Non-Wood Products: Exploring the value of medicinal and edible components of forest crops. It goes beyond wood, emphasizing the efficient, science-based use of forest resources for the good of mankind.
