Dear all,
the preliminary program of the IUFRO World Congress is now available online:
https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/events/691/program-app/program
I am glad that there are so many sessions related to Division 5 Forest Products and I want to thank all office holders who have organised the sessions. I hope to see many of you in Curitiba.
Research groups and working parties will have their administrative sessions (former "business session") on Tuesday, 1st, Wednesday 2nd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of October over the lunch break from 12:00 to 12:50 or 13:00 to 13:50 (two 50-minute blocks) and also in the evening on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd from 17:30 to 18:20 or 18:30 to 19:20. They are open for everybody and a good possibility to recruit new office holders for units. According to IUFRO rules, an office holder can serve only for two 5-year-terms. We will need to change many coordinators and deputies but I hope all of you who want to be active in Division 5 could continue in other positions.
Below I have selected the sessions related to Division 5 which are included in the present program. Hopefully I have been able to include all sessions related to forest products. They are grouped according to congress themes:
B2d Wood and tree-ring studies of forest adaptation to climate change; implications for wood production
B5a Climate change, environment and conservation: challenges from the analysis of tree rings
B5b Innovative wood protection and insect pest control strategies to mitigate climate change in the tropics and warm temperate climes
C1a Managing forest ecosystem resilience and biological and social diversity for future forest products
C2c Towards Sustainable Development of the Global Teak Sector in a Changing World
C3b Digital transformation in wood industry
