Objet : Second Announcement - 6th IUFRO 2.09.02 Conference (Tree Vegetative Propagation), 3-8 March, 2024, Rotorua, New Zealand
Dear Colleagues from IUFRO Division 2 and IUFRO 2.09.02 Unit,
We are delighted to confirm that our sixth IUFRO 2.09.02 Unit Conference will be held from 3-8 March 2024 in Rotorua, New Zealand!
"The might of vegetative propagation for healthy and productive forests to face climate challenges"
We will be welcomed by Dr. Jana Krajňáková (Senior Researcher for tissue culture) and Dr. Henri Baillères (General Manager forest to timber products) and their teams from <https://www.scionresearch.com/> Scion, a crown research institute that specialises in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood product, wood-derived materials, and other biomaterial sectors.
Please, check the attached announcement and visit the <https://iufro2024conference.wordpress.com/> Conference website.
Note that the deadline for <https://iufro2024conference.wordpress.com/registrations/> early birds registration and <https://iufro2024conference.wordpress.com/registrations/abstract-guidelines/> abstract submission is 15 November 2023.
Due to unforeseen difficulties, it's a quite short deadline, so we're counting on your responsiveness to help us organise the conference smoothly!
There are two IUFRO sponsorships (SAP) available for scientists from economically disadvantaged countries in Asia. See the <https://iufro2024conference.files.wordpress.com/2023/10/iufro_sap_call_for_…> Procedure to apply. Deadline: 30 November 2023
We also organise our 4th IUFRO 2.09.02 Student’s scientific competition. See the <https://iufro2024conference.files.wordpress.com/2023/10/student_competition…> Procedure to participate. Deadline: 30 November 2023
Thanks for your help in disseminating this information to your colleagues, teams, IUFRO Units and other networks interested in vegetative propagation of trees and its applications for sustainable management of forests and tree plantations.
We would also be grateful if you could circulate this information to your organisation/institution in order to consider sponsorship opportunities to support our 6th IUFRO 2.09.02 conference. If interested, please contact Kylie Gunn ( <mailto:Kylie.gunn@scionresearch.com> Kylie.gunn(a)scionresearch.com).

Dear IUFRO Division 2 and 2.09.02 Members,
We would like to kindly remind you of our 6th IUFRO 2.09.02 conference, which will be hosted by Scion in Rotorua, New Zealand, from 3 to 8 March 2024. Dr. Jana Krajňáková and Dr. Henri Baillères as well as their Scion teams are preparing a great scientific and social programme for us!
“The might of vegetative propagation for healthy and productive forests to face climate challenges"
After some difficult years, Rotorua 2024 is a new IUFRO 2.09.02 opportunity to share your research on vegetative propagation of trees and other woody plants as a primary strategy or in synergy with seed technologies to cope with climate change.
For more information, please review our preliminary announcement and related information (including a short article) currently posted on the dedicated <https://www.iufro.org/science/divisions/division-2/20000/20900/20902/activi…> IUFRO 2.09.02 webpage.
The conference website will be launched in September. Get prepared to register as early birds and submit your abstract(s)!
If not already done, don't forget to approach your preferred funding sources. We would like to offer all the flexibility and support needed to encourage your participation, but organisational constraints remain high in New Zealand and anticipation is our best option!
We would be also grateful if you could fill in this short <https://forms.gle/Fh612sSdqGTFbZG99> questionnaire about your willingness to participate in the Rotorua 2024 conference. Thank you to all those who have already done so. This is important information to support your Organizing Committee!
We look forward to welcoming many of you to Rotorua in just over 7 months' time for some friendly scientific and social activities in beautiful New Zealand scenery!
