Latest RG 7.02 Newsletter

Dear All, I hope that everyone is keeping well. As COVID-19 moves around the world, I assume that it has affected all of you in some way. Here in Canada, the federal government has closed our labs, so I am working from home. Universities are closed, but course material is being delivered electronically so that students can finish their classes. Amongst ourselves we have already discussed how to include a virtual presence in our upcoming meetings, primarily because visa issues and travel costs affect the attendance of some and we would like to be inclusive, but the current pandemic has given us another reason to think about virtual attendance. Please stay in contact with one another and remember that all communications strengthen our network. The latest RG 7.02 newsletter is finished. It contains updates from recent working party meetings and the world congress. Enjoy, and if you are looking for something to read while you are working from home, this will keep you occupied for a few minutes and will hopefully bring back some good memories. Invitation to IUFRO Division 7 (Forest Health) meeting to discuss future conference plans, changes in coordinators, etc.

Dear friends and colleagues, During the IUFRO congress in Curitiba next week, we will have a meeting to discuss future conference plans, proposals for new working parties, changes in coordinators and other important topics. Everybody with an interest in forest health, tree pathology and entomology and our activities in this space is warmly invited. The meeting will take place on Friday, 4 October, from 17:30 to 19:20 (i.e., 5:30 - 7:20 pm) in Room R07 - Wing 2. This is just before the Gala Dinner and transport to the dinner venue will be available. We used to refer to these meetings as 'Business Meetings' but at this congress it is called an 'Administrative Meeting'. Despite the name, this will be of interest to all scientists participating in working parties and their conferences in the forest health area, and we will try our best to make it 'interesting'. Please let me know if you have any agenda items you would like to contribute. We hope you can attend the meeting on Friday evening and look forward to seeing you. Finally, please note, the earlier meeting on Tuesday, 1 October, from 12:00 to 12:50 in Room R03 - Wing 3, of the pathology and entomology Research Groups will not take place as it clashes with concurrent poster sessions.
