The position should start as soon as possible and preferably in June this year. We are looking for somebody with a background in forest ecology and modelling to implement a forest landscape simulation model aimed at forecasting the future of Romanian forests under range of climate and management scenarios. Dear all, We are pleased to announce that, IUFRO 7.03.04 Diseases and Insects in Forest Nurseries Working Party Meeting will be held in Kuşadası, Turkey 21st - 26th of October, 2018 with oral and poster presentations along with social programs (http://ormanweb.sdu.edu.tr/iufro2018/) Kuşadası is a resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast and the center of the seaside district of the same name within Aydın Province. It is located 95 km away from İzmir, and 71 km from Aydın. It's primary industry is tourism. There are many well preserved historical sites on the Aegean coast of Turkey belong to Greek and Roman eras. Ephesus is the nearest and best preserved one among them. The ancient city of Ephesus has been inscribed to the World Heritage List of the UNESCO. On behalf of the organizing committee of the meeting, it is my great pleasure to invite all the interested researchers and educators in the international scientific community to join us in Kuşadası and share in the excitement of good science for the benefit of mankind. Dear Colleagues, SAVE THE DATE!! 1-4 OCTOBER 2018 IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA SECOND CIRCULAR CONFERENCE: Preparing Europe for invasion by the beetles emerald ash borer and bronze birch borer, two major tree-killing pests As part of our Euphresco project on emerald ash borer and bronze birch borer (PREPSYS - www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/prepsys<http://www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/prepsys>,) we have organised a conference on how Europe can prepare for potential invasion by the beetles. The conference will be held at BFW, Vienna from 1-4 October 2018. Details are in the attached announcement. The conference is sponsored by OECD Cooperative Research Programme and by the UK Government Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra). Apart from an outstanding list of invited keynote speakers, there are a limited number of oral presentation slots, as well as a poster paper session. Further details are in the attached second circular. The Proceedings will be published in a special issue of the journal Forestry.
