Dear friends and colleagues,
We would like to inform you about the upcoming International Workshop on
Wood Structure and Ecophysiology (WES) that will take place in Naples,
on 17-19 April 2013, in combination with the II Meeting of the
Cost-Action "STReESS - Studying Tree Responses to extreme Events: a
SynthesiS" (that will be held on 15-16 April 2013).
The Workshop will cover all contemporary key aspects of the wood
structure integrated with Tree Biology. We aim to bring together experts
working on different aspects of wood: xylogenesis and cambial phenology,
phylogenesis and ecololgical wood anatomy, ecophysiology and tree-growth
modeling.

and
The 2013 National Outdoor Recreation Conference
The response for submitting abstracts for poster and presentation sessions to the IUFRO Conference on Forests for People and the 2013 National Outdoor Recreation Conference has been gratifuying. Ninety-five abstracts have been submitted to date---some to host a larger session and some for individual presentations.
Due to the normal challenges of international communications, we have decided to extend the deadline for abstracts for the IUFRO Conference on Forests for People to January 15, 2013.
The submittal requirements and directions remain the same.
