The IUFRO Task Force on Biological Invasions in Forests is organizing a
workshop that will address all aspects of the problem of biological
invasions in forests. The workshop will be held 18-21 July in
Shepherdstown, WV, just outside of Washington, DC, USA.
The meeting is designed as a venue for the synthesis of world-wide
knowledge on invasions by all taxa of species in forests. Topic areas range
from ecology,biology, social sciences, management and economics. The
workshop will consist of invited presentations by an international panel of
scientists as well as a limited number of contributed presentations.
Scientific presentations will span 3 days with an all-day field trip the
final day of 21 July. Attendance at the meeting is appropriate for
scientists as well as stakeholders and policymakers. Information about the
