A faculty position is available in the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute ( www.fabinet.up.ac.za ) at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking goal-directed research in Entomology and Ecology as part of a team focused on tree health, as well as participate in postgraduate supervision and undergraduate teaching in these fields. Research experience with mathematical or statistical skills linked to ecological theory or modeling of biological systems will be especially valuable. The incumbent will work in a world leading research team and institute and contribute to its engagement with a broad range of stake holders, including international collaborators, local government and industry, as well as funding organisations.

The 58th annual Southern Forest Insect Work Conference will be held 25-28 July 2017 (Tuesday - Friday) in Melbourne, Florida USA!

Please begin to consider nominations for the A.D. Hopkins Award (for a professional who has made significant contributions to forest entomology in the southern U.S.) and the Roger F. Anderson Award (for an outstanding graduate student in forest entomology in the southern U.S.). Putting together a nomination packet takes some time, so start thinking now about colleagues and students who qualify for these awards. Nomination details and deadlines will be coming soon!

Announcing the 2016 Emerald Ash Borer Research and Technology Development Meeting

The Ohio State University is pleased to host the 9th Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Research and Technology Development Meeting at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) in Wooster, Ohio. The program will include submitted oral and poster presentations. Submissions for all EAB related research and technology development are welcome.
The deadline to submit paper and poster titles is September 19, 2016. As in past years, a proceedings of abstracts will be published.
