2019 A.D. HOPKINS & ROGER F. ANDERSON AWARDS
Please begin to consider nominations for the A.D. Hopkins Award (for a professional who has made significant contributions to forest entomology in the southern U.S.) and the Roger F. Anderson Award (for an outstanding graduate student in forest entomology in the southern U.S.). Putting together a nomination packet takes some time, so start thinking now about colleagues and students who qualify for these awards. Nomination details and deadlines will be coming soon!

The conference will include both oral and poster presentations, addressing
key issues relating to:
1) Information platform on pests and diseases occurrence in Central Europe;
2) Non-native organisms - network for sharing information on distribution
and spreading;
3) Risk assessment of actual and introduced pests and diseases;
4) Diagnostic tools and evidence systems for forest pests and diseases;
5) The pest and disease controls in the certificated forests (FSC or PEFC).
Suceava is located in the North-Eastern part of Romania and is the main town
of the historical province Bucovina, famous for the medieval painted
monasteries, included on the list of the world patrimony UNESCO, as for its
beautiful nature.

Dear IUFRO colleagues,
This a reminder for a call for abstracts for a technical session to be held at the IUFRO XXV World Congress meeting, September 29-October 5, 2019 in Curitiba, Brazil (http://www.iufro2019.com<http://www.iufro2019.com/> ).
Please consider that the call will close on January 10, 2019.
We will be happy that you circulate this information among your own networks.
Sincerely yours,

CALL FOR ABSTRACT FOR A TECHNICAL SESSION FOR THE CONGRESS THEME: BIODIVERSITY, ECOSYSTEM SERVICES AND BIOLOGICAL INVASIONS
TITLE OF THE SESSION : D7b - Biodiversity, biotic interactions and threats to forest ecosystem services associated with tree reproductive structure insects and pathogens in a changing world
ORGANISERS
Thomas Boivint1, Marie-Anne Auger-Rozenberg2 and Olle Rosenberg3
1Mediterranean Forest Research Unit, INRA, France. 2Research Unit of Forest Zoology, France. 3Skogforsk, The Forestry Reasearch Institute, Sweden.
DESCRIPTION
Insects and pathogens exploiting tree reproductive structures are considered the most important constraint to the reproductive success of trees during the seed pre-dispersal phase. In a context in which the effects of both climate change and biological invasions are increasingly prevalent to these species, this session will propose experimental and theoretical contributions to biodiversity, biotic interactions and threat assessment and management associated with native and exotic insects and pathogens of tree reproductive structures.
DETAILS
Abstracts will be accepted for both posters and oral presentations. Authors are limited to a maximum of two abstracts as presenting author.
DEADLINES
Abstract submission deadline: December 31, 2018. Registration and payment deadline: May 31, 2018.
INSTRUCTIONS
You must be registered for the event to submit an abstract, but you may pay for registration later, up to May 31. Registration and abstract submission must be completed online at http://www.iufro2019.com/
