This conference will highlight accelerated changes imprinted in our planet
within the Anthropocene. We welcome presentations and posters targeting
forest changes and landscape transformation as a consequence of increasing
pressures of globalization, population growth, resource scarcity and
ecological degradation -the BIG challenges ahead.
Operational solutions and state of the art methods are at the centre of the
conference.
Within the framework of this Conference we will focus on key topics to
assess problems but also to find solutions towards a better future in
forested landscapes

Subject: Postdoc position in Forest Modelling in Romania
Dear colleagues and friends,
The National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry (INCDS) “Marin Drăcea” in Romania is hiring a post-doc for two years.
The position should start as soon as possible and preferably in June this year. We are looking for somebody with a background in forest ecology and modelling to implement a forest landscape simulation model aimed at forecasting the future of Romanian forests under range of climate and management scenarios.

The only hard requirement of the position is that candidates must have working rights within the EU.

IUFRO Working Party 7.02.01 "Root & Stem Rots" Conference - From genetics to
wooded meadows
Uppsala and Visby, Sweden; 26 August - 1 September 2018;

The Conference will start at SLU (The Swedish University of Agricultural
Sciences) in Uppsala and then everyone will go by ferry to the island of
Gotland to the medevial town Visby where the conference will continue.
