Please find below a message from FAO about the fact that the deadline for submission of abstracts for the XIV World Forestry Congress has been extended to 30 January 2015. We encourage all scientists in the IUFRO network to use this opportunity for showcasing their work and for sharing it with fellow scientists.
Please also note that for the first time the call for abstracts includes videos!

Extra time to submit your abstract for the XIV World Forestry Congress
The call for abstracts for the XIV World Forestry Congress has been extended and you now have until 30 January 2015 to submit your ideas for papers, posters and videos.
The XIV World Forestry Congress will take place 7-11 September 2015 in Durban, South Africa and will be a key occasion for the world’s foresters and forest supporters to gather, to share their expertise and experience, and to project a new vision for the future of forests and forestry.
We welcome abstracts for papers, posters and – for the first time – video presentations on the central theme of the Congress, “Forests and People: Investing in a Sustainable Future”, and on relevant topics that also align with any of the six Congress sub-themes:
* Forests for socio-economic development and food security
* Building resilience with forests
* Integrating forests and other land uses
* Encouraging product innovation and sustainable trade
* Monitoring forests for better decision-making
* Improving governance by building capacity

Se ha ampliado el plazo para la presentación de resúmenes para el XIV Congreso Forestal Mundial y ahora usted tiene hasta el 30 de enero de 2015 para presentar sus ideas para ponencias, posters y vídeos.
El XIV Congreso Forestal Mundial se llevará a cabo del 7 al 11 de septiembre de 2015 en Durban, República de Sudáfrica y será una ocasión fundamental para que los forestales de todo el mundo y las personas que apoyan actividades relacionadas a los bosques se reúnan, compartan conocimientos y experiencias y proyecten una nueva visión sobre el futuro de los bosques y las actividades forestales.
Invitamos a la presentación de resúmenes de ponencias, posters y, por primera vez, presentaciones en vídeo sobre el tema central del Congreso, “Los Bosques y la Gente: Invertir en un Futuro Sostenible”, y sobre temas relevantes relacionados con cualquiera de los seis subtemas del Congreso:

Betreff: Coppice forests: past, present and future; Brno, Czech Republic, 9-11 April 2015. Second call
Coppice forests have been a focal topic in forestry, ecology and nature conservation over the past decades. This short-rotation management system has a long tradition in the temperate regions of Europe and Asia. As a result of its multi-purpose functions, such as biomass production and biodiversity conservation, the importance of coppicing is widely recognized. Today, coppice forests are confronted with new challenges in an economically, climatically and ecologically changing environment. At this interdisciplinary conference, we strive to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the past, present and future of coppice forests in the world.
Please find attached the Second Call for this conference – please note that the deadline for abstract submission is 15 December 2014.

This is a reminder message concerning the Abstract submission to IBFRA2015 Conference. The conference calls for abstracts of posters and oral presentations as well as contributions to the workshop. The deadline for Abstract submission is this week, Sunday 14th December. Please hurry, if you are going to submit an Abstract to the Conference.

The Conference theme is Towards a New Era of Forest Science in Boreal Region. It includes four scientific topics
- Sustainable forest management in an era of global changes,

- Innovative means to disseminate scientific information to wider public.

The XIV World Forestry Congress will be a key occasion for the world’s foresters and forest supporters to gather, to share their expertise and experience, and to project a new vision for the future of forests and forestry. We’d like you to help define that vision.
We invite you to submit your application for organizing an event under the central theme of the Congress, Forests and People: Investing in a Sustainable Future, and on relevant topics that also align with any of the six Congress sub-themes that can be found <http://forestry.fao.msgfocus.com/c/1d8rLN8D476T3KBTfiBXjZ> here.
We welcome proposals for side events, networking events, launches, performances or regional events to share experiences and innovations and increase opportunities for dialogue among participants.

Appel à Proposition d'Événements
Pour les forestiers et partisans des forêts du monde entier, le XIVe Congrès forestier mondial sera une occasion essentielle de se réunir, partager leur expertise et leurs expériences, et projeter une nouvelle vision pour l’avenir des forêts et de la foresterie. Nous aimerions dessiner cette vision avec vous.
Nous vous invitons à soumettre vos propositions d’évènements sur le thème central du XIVe Congrès forestier mondial, « Les forêts et les populations : investir dans un avenir durable », et sur les sujets pertinents en rapport avec l’un des six sous-thèmes du Congrès qui sont disponibles ici <http://forestry.fao.msgfocus.com/c/1d8t0xuFaTQzlPL9MTywKc> .
Dans le but de partager les expériences et les innovations ainsi qu’accroitre les possibilités de dialogue entre les participants, nous acceptons les propositions d’événements parallèles, d’activité de réseautage, de lancements, de manifestation-spectacles ou des événements régionaux.
Veuillez proposer vos événements parallèles avant la date limite fixée au 27 février 2015, à travers le système d’enregistrement en ligne pour les événements.
