Subject: Gregory Award materials
Greetings!
The Society of American Foresters is excited to begin accepting applications for the 2017 Gregory Award. The Gregory Award seeks to mark the achievements of Bob and Ann Gregory and further their interest in international relations by providing economic assistance to outstanding students or professionals from outside of the US and Canada to attend the SAF Convention and have meaningful engagement with foresters on the North American continent.
Thanks to the continued generosity of the Gregory family and SAF members, this award has been expanded to bring two promising individuals to the SAF Convention each year. This year’s convention will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 15-19. The award includes complimentary registration and $2,000 (US dollars) that may be utilized for travel, lodging, and tickets to SAF convention events or technical field tours. SAF will work with successful applicants to allocate the funds in the most useful manner.
Please help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity. The deadline to apply is May 8, 2017.
The application is attached. For more information, visit http://www.eforester.org/Main/Community/Scholarships/Gregory_Award.aspx <http://www.eforester.org/Main/Community/Scholarships/Gregory_Award.aspx>.

Dear all,
I am pleased to announce the release of the first version of the
biodiversity sourcebook. The sourcebook aims to inform which data and
methods can be applied to monitor some relevant Essential Biodiversity
Variables (EBV) that supports the UNCBD efforts to halt biodiversity loss.
The EBV concept proposed by the GEO BON, Space Agencies, and the Earth
Observation research community at large aims to support efforts for
biodiversity monitoring. The sourcebook is currently being advertised at the
IPBES Plenary. It must be noted that more than 70 authors have contributed
to the sourcebook. As a result we produced a sourcebook that is freely
available on the GOFC-GOLD Land Cover Office and the GEO BON websites and
soon on the IPBES resource platform
To download the FREE PDF version go to GEO BON website:

More information attached and following the link:
