Subject: Update on special issues of the 4th International Conference on Forests and Water in a Changing Environment held July 2015 in Kelowna, Canada
Dear All Conference Participants,
Thank those who indicated to us for submitting manuscripts for consideration of a special issue in Ecohydrology. The attached file lists the manuscripts which are identified for submissions to Ecohydrology by Dec. 31, 2015. For those manuscripts, a separate e-mail will be sent out soon to provide submission guidelines of Ecohydrology.
As mentioned in our previous emails, we have been exploring another journal for an additional special issue. Now I am so pleased to let you know that HESS (Hydrology and Earth System Sciences) has accepted our proposal. More importantly, manuscripts from all of the other themes and sessions not invited for Ecohydrology can be submitted to HESS given that they fit with the journal scope. I should mention that HESS is an open access journal with publishing charges (http://www.hydrology-and-earth-system-sciences.net/for_authors/article_proc…) and the impact factor is 3.535 in 2014.
The following information is about a special issue in HESS. If you have any questions on this special issue, please contact the leading guest editor Dr. Lixin Wang, lxwang(a)iupui.edu
HESS special issue title:
Vegetation changes under a changing environment and the impacts on water and carbon cycling

This is a reminder of the upcoming IUFRO Risk Analysis (4.04.07) meeting in Freiburg, Germany; 21-23 April, 2016.
The meeting is hosted by the Institute of Forestry, University of Freiburg.
PERCEPTION ==> PREDICTION ==> ACTION:
Managing risk in uncertain times.
This conference will bring together leading experts from the international scientific community to discuss:
* the risks posed to the forest resource by our changing climate
v natural disturbances (including insects, pathogens, fire, extreme weather)
v post-disturbance (natural and anthropogenic) silvics
v species range and biodiversity
* how these risks are perceived and predicted in the forest science and management community
* how risk and uncertainty can be incorporated in the decision-making process to increase the likelihood that the future realized ecosystem services match our stated goals
Abstract submission and registration is open at https://www.conftool.net/riskanalysis2016/.
Visit the Risk Analysis website<http://riskanalysis-iufro.org/index.html> for all meeting details.
