First Announcement: Forest Biodiversity Conference Ireland 2012

Dear all,
On behalf on the organising committee I am pleased to announce the
Second IUFRO International conference on Biodiversity in Forest
Ecosystems and Landscapes http://www.ucc.ie/en/iufro2012/.
It is also now listed on the IUFRO events page

This conference will build on the success of the first IUFRO
International Conference on Biodiversity in Forest Ecosystems and
Landscapes which was held in Kamloops in 2008. It will aim to provide an
international forum for researchers, practitioners and students to
discuss the challenges of maintaining and enhancing biodiversity in
forests, and consider emerging trends in the sustainable management of
forest ecosystems and landscapes. The conference will be held at
University College Cork, Ireland in August 2012.
The call for symposia is now open (deadline 28th February 2011).

DEADWOOD AND DYING TREES: A MATTER OF LIFE AND DIVERSITY
Rouyn-Noranda Congress Center, (Québec, Canada), May 15-19, 2011
The symposium will be held in Rouyn-Noranda, (Quebec, Canada), May 15-19, 2011. The Symposium is jointly organized by the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the Université du Québec à Montréal, the Center for Forest Research, the NSERC/UQAT/UQÀM Industrial Chair in Sustainable Forest Management, the Lake Duparquet Research and Teaching Forest, and the Canadian Forest Service. The Symposium will include keynote speakers, volunteer oral presentations, poster sessions and discussions as well as a one-day field tour.
The symposium is sponsored by IUFRO Division 8.02.02 - Forest biodiversity and resilience

Le symposium aura lieu du 15 au 19 mai 2011 à Rouyn-Noranda (Québec, Canada). Le colloque est organisé conjointement par l'Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, l'Université du Québec à Montréal, le Centre d'étude de la forêt, la Chaire industrielle CRSNG-UQAT-UQÀM en aménagement forestier durable, la Forêt d'enseignement la recherche du lac Duparquet et le Service canadien des forêts. Le symposium inclura des conférenciers, des présentations orales volontaires, des sessions d'affiches, des séances de discussion ainsi qu'une visite d'une journée en forêt.
