Subject: Task Force Webinar Series
Aloha, please share this widely! The Task Force on Nontimber Forest Products and the Bioeconomy are starting a series of presentation. This intended to let people know.
Please join us for a new webinar series<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.srs.f…>! The IUFRO Task Force "Unlocking the Bioeconomy and Nontimber Forest Products" with partners is cohosting a series of presentations to explore how NTFP are integrated into a bioeconomy. A bioeconomy can reduce environmental impacts of economic growth through science-based management that promotes sustainable production. In this series, experts from around the world will share research on nontimber forest products within a bioeconomy concept.
The first webinar will be Tuesday, August 31, 7:30-8:30 a.m. ET. Register<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fus02web.z…> for the webinar. The attached flyer provides more information on this month's speaker.
The series will feature monthly webinars over the next year, leading up to the UN FAO XV World Forestry Congress in May 2022. "Building a Green Healthy and Resilient Future with Forests" is the theme and the Congress will be held in South Korea.

Dear colleagues of Division 8,
I hope you and your family are fine even in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Actually, in Japan, the situation is very uncertain, especially in Tokyo
and Osaka.
As for the captioned matter, it was decided that the ACID RAIN 2020
conference would be postponed to late 2021 or early 2022. Although the
actual new date is still under discussion, we have just updated HP to
inform potential participants of the current situation.
https://www.acidrain2020.org
The name of the conference "ACID RAIN 2020" will not be changed to
utilize the materials prepared so far (such as logo, HP, registration
system, etc.).
I will inform you when the new date is decided.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
Best regards,
Hiro

Dear all,
The COST Action Bottoms-Up organizes its first Training School on
“Assessing Multi-Taxon Diversity in Forest Ecosystems”, which will be held
in Arezzo (Italy) on September, 28-30, 2021.
The aim of the training is to give a comprehensive overview of multi-taxon
biodiversity data issues in forest ecosystems with an emphasis on bridging
the gap between theory and practice.
The training is opened to young researchers (from PhD students to post-docs
with up to 8 years of experience after their PhD) to express their interest
to participate as trainees.
Details are available here in the official Cost page:
https://www.bottoms-up.eu/en/networking-tools/training-schools.html
The Training is posted in the IUFRO Calendar of Events,
https://www.iufro.org/events/calendar/, and in the activities page of the
Unit,
https://www.iufro.org/science/divisions/division-8/80000/80200/80201/activi…
.
Please read and share the Training school annuncement with your colleagues
and research network.
