Joint WP 7.03.13 and 7.03.16 Meeting in October in South Africa

Dear IUFRO Member:
We are writing to update you on the joint IUFRO Working Party (7.03.13 "Biological control of forest insects and pathogens" and 7.03.16 "Behavioural and chemical ecology of forest insects) meeting with a focus on the intersection of Behavioural/ Chemical Ecology and Biological Control in Forest Ecosystems. This meeting will occur at the Future Africa campus, University of Pretoria (https://www.up.ac.za/future-africa)
We now have firm dates for the meeting: 28-30 October, 2025 (inclusive); for abstract submission (15-June, 2025 deadline) and registration (30-June, 2025). Please visit the following page for registration (https://www.fabinet.up.ac.za/index.php/events/IUFRO2025A ). Here you can get some additional information about the meeting, register and coordinate payment ($300 USD for regular delegates; $200 USD for students) as well as indicate your interest in a post-meeting one-day or three-day and two-night field trip. The former will include a trip to see some plantation forest pest issues and the latter will also include some tourism (e.g., trip to Kruger and game drive). You will also be able to get information about abstract submission at the website.
This meeting will be a combination of traditional power-point presentations and directed discussions, with an emphasis on the latter. Discussion sessions will have experts assigned to facilitate dialogue and rapporteurs to capture ideas in real time. Ideally the notes from these discussions will form the basis of follow up activities (e.g., synthesis papers, research proposals) with interested delegates.

SFHWC 2025 registration form now available!

It's time to register for the 2025 Southern Forest Health Work Conference, 15-17 July 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Tulsa Downtown, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA!
IMPORTANT!!!: Please note that this year's schedule begins the morning of Tuesday, July 15 and ends the evening of Thursday, July 17! Please make your hotel reservations and travel plans with this in mind.
The SFHWC 2025 registration form is available exclusively online through Eventbrite again this year. Go to https://sfhwc2025.eventbrite.com to register. The registration fee for professionals is $450 (only $190 for students and retired members), which includes a ticket to the Thursday night banquet for the registrant. Extra banquet tickets for guests are $60. Registration receipts and name tags will be distributed at the registration table.
Pre-registration on the Eventbrite website is available until Thursday, July 3, 2025. If you're planning on paying at-the-door via cash or check, please pre-register on the Eventbrite website.
IMPORTANT!!!: If you choose, you can pay your registration fee online at the Eventbrite website (https://sfhwc2025.eventbrite.com) with a credit card prior to the meeting! Please be aware that the deadline for paying via credit card is July 3, 2025. Credit card payments will NOT be accepted after this date! Credit card payments will NOT be accepted "at the door!"
IMPORTANT!!!: If you are not paying your registration fee with a credit card, please go to Eventbrite website (https://sfhwc2025.eventbrite.com) to fill out the registration form, indicating your payment preference. You may pay via mailing a check to me ("Pay By Check") or using a check or cash at the meeting ("Pay At The Door").
Please be aware that an additional $8.00 fee applies to all Canadian and other non-U.S. checks.
One banquet ticket (for yourself) is included in your registration fee. Extra banquet tickets for adult ($60) and children 16-and-under ($40) guests can be purchased using the online registration form.
