Women in Forest health webinar: IUFRO Division 7

UNCLASSIFIED - NON CLASSIFIÉ Dear colleagues, On the 12th and 13th of February 2024, the IUFRO Forest Health Division 7 will be celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with a free webinar series<https://div7idwgs.carlamani.com/?page=0>. To recognize the contribution women make to forest health research, we invite you to three online sessions highlighting the work of 21 women. The speakers will present their research on topics related to forest pests and pathogens, forest ecology, invasion biology and climate change. Four of our speakers from Benin, Nepal, New Zealand and the USA will also share their perspectives on gender-related challenges in forestry, research and higher education. Postdoc availability at Ohio State University

Dear colleagues, I am looking for a capable person to work on a postdoc in my lab on increasing capacity for early detection of fungal forest pathogens by taking advantage of the Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) system currently used in the USA for early detection of forest pests, as well as developing/testing new-ish active trapping spore technologies. The candidate must be proficient in molecular fungal identification and microbiome analysis. Cheers! PostDoc opportunity at WSL (CH) - The effects of urbanisation on foliar fungal endophytes of trees

In this project we aim at investigating the effects of urbanisation on taxonomic and functional diversity of foliar fungal endophytes of trees using a third-generation sequencing approach. The project will be conducted in collaboration with the experts from the COST Action Urban Tree Guard<https://ub3guard.eu/>.
