Dear all, I am pleased to announce the release of the first version of the biodiversity sourcebook. The sourcebook aims to inform which data and methods can be applied to monitor some relevant Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBV) that supports the UNCBD efforts to halt biodiversity loss. The EBV concept proposed by the GEO BON, Space Agencies, and the Earth Observation research community at large aims to support efforts for biodiversity monitoring. The sourcebook is currently being advertised at the IPBES Plenary. It must be noted that more than 70 authors have contributed to the sourcebook.
