It is with immense pleasure that we announce the 1st International Electronic Conference on Forests (IECF): Forests for a Better Future: Sustainability, Innovation, Interdisciplinarity Virtual Conference; 15-30 November 2020 Forests and forestry activities provide an opportunity to address the pressing challenge of climate change through sustainable production. Forests also play a strategic role in mitigating critical issues, including biodiversity conservation, water regulation, energy efficiency, pollution reduction and mitigation, production of raw biological materials, food safety, and human and ecosystem health and poverty. Forests contribute to the improvement of some important development issues focused on sustainability and responsible forest management as a shared and essential factor to address global challenges and guarantee the conservation and enhancement of the global forest heritage as well as the socio-economic development of production, environmental, and socio-cultural chains. The global pandemic has forced us to reduce travel and to reflect on our ability to leave scientific acquisitions as a legacy to future generations. This reduced mobility stimulates us to maintain connections with the scientific network using emerging technologies. This conference is an opportunity to communicate our shared passion for forests, forest products and services, and forest biodiversity. The conference will discuss the state of the art of forestry operations, wood supply chains, and ecosystem services, and objectives for the future will be sought. Invitation to join the International Society of Tropical Foresters (Global)

With its focus on being a communication network, ISTF can help you connect with others interested in tropical forests and forestry, and with related resources. ISTF was founded in the 1950s and “in response to a worldwide concern for the fate of tropical and subtropical forests, ISTF is committed to the protection, wise management and rational use of the world’s tropical forests”. So far, ~1300 people from around the world have joined. For now, the organization will be dues-free (although this is under discussion). Call for nominations for 2019 Wangari Maathai Award

WANGARI MAATHAI "FOREST CHAMPIONS" AWARD - ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2019 AWARDS You are invited to nominate a candidate for the 2019 CPF Wangari Maathai "Forest Champions" Award by 10 May! This is a unique opportunity to acknowledge an inspiring individual who has improved our forests and the lives of people that depend on them. The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) is awarding one extraordinary individual for improving our forests and the lives of people who depend on them! The CPF launched the first Wangari Maathai Award in 2012 to honour and commemorate the impact of this extraordinary woman who championed forest issues around the world. In 2019, the CPF will award another individual for her/his outstanding achievements for forests. The awardee will receive a cash prize of USD20,000 along with international recognition of the outstanding contributions to preserve, restore and sustainably manage forests and to raise awareness of the key role forests play in supporting local communities, rural livelihoods, women, youth and the environment. The Wangari Maathai Award is an initiative of CBD, CIFOR, CITES, FAO, GEF, ICRAF, ITTO, IUCN, IUFRO, UNCCD, UNDP, UNEP, UNFCCC, UNFF and World Bank, all members of the CPF. Nominations will be reviewed by an international jury of renowned personalities, who will also take into consideration such elements as empowering women, youth and civil society, fostering social commitment, promoting networks and improving the valuation of forests in society. Eligibility: Applicants should be nominated by a third party. Nominees may be persons, living or recently deceased, who have made exceptional contributions to forests. Professional and research contributions will only be considered if they are conducted outside of normal work-related responsibilities. Applications received from a nominee's kin or business partner are not eligible for consideration. Applications related to grassroots initiatives are particularly encouraged. Selection: The closing date for receipt of nominations is 10 May 2019. The awardee will be selected by a jury nominated by CPF members, which will take into account gender and regional balance when considering potential awardees. Announcement: The awardee will be notified of their selection via email in mid-August 2019. This year's Wangari Maathai Award will be presented on 30 September 2019, at the XXV IUFRO World Congress to be held at Expo Unimed on 29 September - 5 October 2019 in Curitiba, Brazil. IUFRO - Call for Task Force Proposals

<http://www.iufro.org/> International Union of Forest Research Organizations IUFRO - Call for Task Force Proposals IUFRO Task Forces are established on a temporary basis to advance inter‐disciplinary forest science cooperation in fields spanning IUFRO Divisional interests. They focus on emerging key issues that are of strong interest to policy makers and groups inside and outside the forest sector, and contribute to international processes and activities. Since 1991, over 30 IUFRO Task Forces have brought together scientists, policy-makers and other stakeholders to conduct innovative work across a broad range of topics. The activities of Task Forces are varied, but commonly involve: development of expanded global collaboration and information-sharing networks on their focal topics, the organization of meetings or workshops, publication of interdisciplinary scientific syntheses as books or in special issues of peer-reviewed journals, and presentations in major regional or global science-policy platforms. Task Force coordinators are non-voting members of the IUFRO Board, and are invited and expected to attend IUFRO's annual Board meetings. For more information on the activities and accomplishments of current and earlier Task Forces please visit: https://www.iufro.org/science/task-forces/) During the current (2014-2019) Board term, Task Forces were established for an initial 2-year period with the possibility of an additional two-year extension. In order to encourage activities across the full spectrum of IUFRO's disciplinary expertise, we will continue this practice. This will enable IUFRO to establish new Task Forces on a periodic basis throughout the 2019‐2024 Term to take advantage of emerging needs and opportunities. SELECTION CRITERIA Proposals for new Task Forces will be evaluated on the following criteria: * Potential to strengthen inter‐Divisional collaboration on specific topics of global relevance related to one or more Emphasis Areas and/or Institutional Goals of the IUFRO Strategy (1); * Specific contribution of the proposed Task Force to addressing broader policy processes or interdisciplinary science‐policy initiatives; * Engagement of two or more Divisions by involving relevant Divisional units (Research Groups and/or Working Parties). Proposal should be jointly developed with the relevant IUFRO Divisions and their units, but may involve additional experts currently outside of the IUFRO network and partner institutions, as required. * Task Force activities should not duplicate current work within IUFRO Divisions, but rather complement and expand their activities; * Rationale for their involvement of (non-IUFRO) partner institutions (if relevant); * Task Force membership reflecting required spectrum of scientific expertise (including both natural and social sciences), as well as geographical, cultural and gender diversity, and providing opportunities for early-career scientists; * Clarity of timelines for proposed Task Force activities and their deliverables; while Task Forces can be proposed for up to the full length of the upcoming IUFRO term (until the July 2024 World Congress), it is highly recommended that proposed Task Forces consider more focused activities to be undertaken in the first two year period; * Clarity of operational aspects (roles and responsibilities of Task Force coordinator and members, roles and responsibilities of partners involved, if any), budget for activities and funding sources. PROCEDURE FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW TASK FORCES FOR THE 2019-2024 TERM In order to proceed with the development of new Task Forces prior to the start of the new Board term in October 2019, we invite IUFRO officeholders and members to prepare, by 31 December 2018, a short 1-2 page Concept Note that provides a brief statement of the objectives/aims and proposed activities of the Task Force within the 2-year time frame. This will be reviewed by IUFRO Board members in January 2019, who will provide comments as well as suggestions regarding scientists from the Divisions who may be particularly interested in joining the proposed Task Force. If the Task Force concept note is viewed favorably by the Board, then a full proposal will be requested, with a due date for full proposals of 31 March for 2019. All proposals will be reviewed (in early April 2019) by the Vice‐President for Task Forces in consultation with the IUFRO Management Committee and other members of the IUFRO Board. If revisions are required following proposal review, prospective Task Force coordinators will be asked to prepare a final revised proposal by late May 2019, after which a final decision on the establishment of new Task Forces within the 2-year time frame will be made by the IUFRO Board in early June 2019. FORMAT FOR FULL PROPOSALS FOR NEW TASK FORCES * Name of proposed Task Force * Name of proposed Task Force coordinator, affiliation (including IUFRO position) and contact information * Names of proposed Task Force members, their affiliations (including IUFRO positions), experience, proposed roles in the Task Force, and contact information * Brief overview of the rationale, goals, and objectives of the proposed Task Force (1 paragraph) * Description of specific proposed Task Force activities, deliverables and timelines. This should include planned focused meetings with tangible outputs such as ‘state‐of‐knowledge' reviews, journal papers, dedicated volumes, etc. * Budget table listing major activities and funding sources, if known – indicate if these funds are already secured. * Narrative addressing the following: * Contribution to implementation of the IUFRO Strategy; * How the proposed Task Force will strengthen cross‐Divisional interaction on specified topics related to IUFRO 2019‐2024 Strategy's Emphasis Areas and/or Institutional Goals, and how the Task Force will complement and/or expand activities of existing IUFRO Divisional units; * Specific contribution of the proposed Task Force to addressing broader policy processes or interdisciplinary science-policy initiatives. Colleagues, The members of the Task Force "Forest Adaptation and Restoration under Global Change" of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) are conducting a survey to gain data and insights for developing best practice approaches for forest adaptation and restoration under global change. This survey relies on the knowledge of experts/professionals from forestry and related fields and their information about actual examples of Adaptive Measures in Forestry and Forest Restoration. The collected data will contribute valuable information to a study of the local and regional experiences with Adaptive Forest Management (AFM) and Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) under climate- and societal change with the aim to increase the adaptive capacity of forests and forest landscapes with regards to those changes. 4th International Congress on Planted Forests - Call for Session Proposals and Abstracts as well as Registration

Call for Participation in the 4th International Congress on Planted Forests The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration of China (SFGA), is convening the 4th International Congress on Planted Forests at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC), Beijing, China on October 23-25, 2018, with optional post Congress excursions on October 26-27 with two routes, one for the conservation planted forests in North China and one for the industrial planted forests in South China. The Congress is organized by the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF), the national research institution on forestry in China. The 4th International Congress on Planted Forests aims to investigate the contribution of planted forests to green development in the context of global changes. Topics include the sustainability of planted forests in the context of changing climates and the future role of planted forests in bio-resources sustainability, environmental protection and green development. The Congress will also be a space of interface between scientific communities, wider society and government policy initiatives related to planted forests. The 4th International Congress on Planted Forests will arrange 2 plenary keynote presentations, 8 sub-plenary invited presentations, around 40 parallel technical sessions with around 240 oral presentations as well as quite a number of poster presentations. The 4th International Congress on Planted Forests is calling for submission of session proposals and abstracts, as well as registration for participation. Important deadlines: (1) Submission for session proposals: May 31, 2018 (with flexibility of submission a week later if prior communication with the Congress Secretariat is made). IJFE Special Issue: The role of Forest Operations in climate change affected forests

Dear colleagues working in Forest Operations, The International Journal of Forest Engineering (http://www.tandfonline.com/toc/tife20/current#.U2is9GeW2UQ) is currently soliciting papers for a Special Issue entitled "The role of Forest Operations in climate change affected forests". Dr. Janine Schweier, of the University of Freiburg (Germany), is serving as Guest Editor for this issue. Growing attention is being given to forest, agriculture and wood based bio-products in both policy and science, because these products are renewable, biodegradable, capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, have a wide range of utilisation and thus, support the main goal to reach a sustainable and a climate neutral economy and society. However, the environment is already affected by significant changes in climate patterns worldwide which leads to the use of more challenging, more complex and thus more expensive biomass and bioenergy supply chains; for example when machines cannot access forest stands due to wet summers or winters and the operations must be carried out motor manually and with cable-yarding systems. The core question addressed in this Special Issue is how climate change impacts will affect timber harvesting and extraction operations in the future. Prospective authors are invited to contribute original manuscripts covering the following subjects: Methods and Tools for climate adapted strategic and operational planning of forest operations * How does climate change affect tomorrow's Forest Operations? * Innovative forest harvesting technology and techniques * Mechanized hardwood logging * Reduced impact logging * Environmentally-friendly Forest Operations (Life Cycle Assessment) * Sustainable forest wood supply chains * Carbon costs, carbon storage, carbon sequestration * Forest Operations on sensitive soils * Steep terrain harvesting * Design and maintenance of forest road networks under changing climate conditions This list is not exclusive, and prospective authors may submit manuscripts from other fields of forest engineering. Submission can be structured to reflect any of the accepted paper types, namely: Research papers, short communications and review papers. The submission deadline is November 30th, 2018. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Nomination of IUFRO Div 3 Coordinator

Dear members of IUFRO Division 3, The nomination invitation in my previous mail resulted in two candidates, for which 31 of the 46 Div. 3 office holders placed their vote. The result was that Div 3's first choice was to continue under the leadership of Woodam (who received 68% of the votes). Mauricio Acuna, the second nominee, received 32% of the votes. In the enclosed document, I provide more information on the new democratic nomination process and my reflections over it. To summarize, the nomination was easy to conduct, and provided important input both to the division management and the division members. To have several candidates (and their supporting organizations) for the leadership is naturally a very good indication of the importance of both the current and future activities of Division 3. Dear members of IUFRO Division 3, It is time to think of who we want to lead our Division for the next term (2019-2024). Thus, I invite everyone that receives this mail to nominate a person for the post as Coordinator of Division 3. The Division Coordinator can serve for two terms, so our current coordinator Woodam Chung can serve for one more term if we would want him to do so. The GSDR, mandated by the United Nations' Member States in the outcome document of the 2012 Rio + 20 conference, is meant to strengthen the science-policy interface and provide a strong evidence-based instrument to support policymakers in promoting poverty eradication and sustainable development. The GSDR is being drafted by an independent group of scientists (IGS), supported by a task team of six UN-system agencies. Request for Information on Orphaned Tropical Forest Data

Colleagues, We hope to compile information on orphaned data for tropical forests, including inventory and plot data, that are in danger of being lost. Many projects over the years have generated a lot of tropical forest data. But the information is scattered among different institutions and people, some still only on paper, some digitized but in older formats. TROPIS and ATROFI-UK are two previous databases that compiled metadata on forest plots and inventories. The data for certain plots are available at www.forestplots.net and its associated networks. But other plots and inventories still need attention, re-discovery even. We would like to compile information on datasets that should be digitized or transformed to an up-to-date digital format. The goal is firstly to make metadata on these datasets available on a publicly accessible website, and then to try to secure the data itself by pushing for appropriate curation with open-access availability. These legacy datasets are invaluable for understanding how tropical forests change through time, including the cumulative impacts of changes in land use and climate, and changes in patterns of biodiversity and carbon storage. The past can help inform the future. Mid-term Meeting of IUFRO RG3.03.00 Session No.154 "Sustainable and Constructive Strategy of Ergonomic Research in Forestry" in the IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress, Freiburg, Germany: 19-22 September, 2017 Deadline for Submissions: 30 November 2016. RG3.03.00 invites submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations for our session. The need of forest ergonomic solutions is obviously visible in the topics of: work accidents, physical or psychological burdens, machine operation techniques, occupational health, forestry labor, aging, training and education, decision making, management sense, social roles, care for environment, and so on. In contrary, numbers of the ergonomic researchers in forestry have decreased. This problem could be triggered by the fact that forest ergonomic education has been implemented insufficiently. Only few universities or colleges that majoring in forest and forestry provide lecture (and laboratory) discussing forest ergonomics. In this mid-term meeting, we will mainly discuss to how to foster future ergonomic researchers, and propose publishing a world standard forest ergonomic textbook for world forest ergonomic education. The forestry sector must keep pace and adapt to these changes. The "Commonwealth" refers to the Commonwealth of Nations, an association of 53 sovereign nations that works together to achieve international goals such as Peace, Democracy and Consensus-building, Law, Human Rights and Development, Environmentally Sustainable Economic Development with greater trust and mutual understanding. Environment and forests are global resources and need to be focused upon by the global fraternity due to the pressures they are under as a result of the alarming growth in the human population, pressures that are being exacerbated by climate and environmental change. The year 2017 will be a key occasion for forestry professionals, academicians and all those interested in and associated with forestry sector in the Commonwealth; they will gather and share their experiences with a view to learn and develop a vision for the future that will involve inclusive and sustainable growth and development. The commonwealth forestry conferences have been held since 1920, when the first (Empire) Forestry Conference was held in London. Since then, the conferences have been held regularly to discuss various aspects of management of forests and focus the action on the changing priorities of the forestry sector. The 19th Commonwealth Forestry Conference is scheduled to be held at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, India from 3rd to 7th April, 2017. Next year is going to be the 125th anniversary of IUFRO. This important event will be celebrated with an “anniversary congress” held in Freiburg, Germany. You all can easily find information about this exciting event on the congress webpage. As you might know, our group frequently tends to be somehow different. In this case, this means that we decided to provide the opportunity to discuss our research field a little bit more intensely. As a means to achieve this goal, two additional small-scale forestry days will be organized right before the meeting. We are calling it “IUFRO125a/3.08 Side-event”. In detail this means that we will offer a “hiking excursion” on Sunday, Sep. 17th 2017. On Monday 18th 2017, one additional day for presentations will be organized by and at the Forest Research Institute Baden-Württemberg (Dept. of Forest economics) here in Freiburg. Together with a couple of 125a congress-sessions, which will touch small-scale forestry issues as well, we hope to provide enough space to discuss our field of interest in detail. This setting allows in addition, that papers, which cannot be considered inside the 125 a conference, can find a place to be presented inside our group - and in this case with even more time for presentation and discussion. The largest areas of private forestland are in the USA, Brazil, China, Colombia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Mexico, Finland, and Japan. Surveys are the most common research tool used for understanding the attitudes, behaviors, and demographics of family forest owners. Regionally, they are the prevalent ownership type. Thus, the provision of all kind of ecosystem services (ESS) can- not work without the contribution of private and communal forest owners. Depending on the demand and intensity of the use of ecosystem services on one hand and the set of objectives and biophysical preconditions on the other, the relationship between ESS and owner rights or objectives can differ widely. Where the access and the use of forests is limited, the preconditions for production of income or limitation of impact for instance, are much better than in case of free access rights and a societal widely accepted and expected use of forest for recreational and conservation purposes. The session wants to contribute to this ongoing and intensifying debate and will focus on the question, which preconditions and political settings can contribute to a fair balance of interest between owner’s rights and social obligation of property in different parts of the world. Additionally, the chances and requirements for private forest owners to draw benefits from the provision of various types of ESS will be highlighted. Consequently, contributions from densely populated parts of the world will be prevalent, but views on the situation from other regions, in which this debate might be at an earlier stage, are welcome. As a fair balance requires a sound evaluation of the monetary impact or contribution of ecosystem services to the forest owner’s household income or community forest budget, contributions to the methodology and results of the assessment of monetary consequences are seen as valuable input on the discussion as well. session 147: Gender and working conditions in tropical forests

Dear colleagues, there are many good reasons to visit Freiburg, and a special one the IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress in September of next year. The call for abstracts is now open for this congress at http://iufro2017.com/call-for-abstracts, where will also find the list of accepted sessions. The deadline for abstract submissions is 30 November 2016. “Gender and working conditions in tropical forests” (session 147) is the session, which we prepared. Please look at the session outline: Forest work is hard work everywhere, but especially under tropical conditions. This work is done by numerous men and women to earn a livelihood based on the use of forest resources, timber as well as NTFP. Millions of these men and women work in formal employment, but many more in informal occupation, mostly in developing countries. Their working situations, as in other sectors or even more so, are gendered, i.e. different for men and women. This refers to tasks, chances of personal and vocational development, income as well as to the other physical, social and organisational working conditions, which are changing and becoming harder through deforestation, climate change and extreme weather situations, urbanisation and globalisation. Gender and working conditions in tropical forests are monitored and studied by representatives of different disciplines, among them social scientists, gender specialists, ergonomists and certification auditors. The aim of the proposed session is to share current knowledge from their work, which is a fundamental research field of the IUFRO gender group and subgroups as well as IUFRO Division 3. I ask you to submit your abstract for the session before the deadline – please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. It would be helpful if you would send the abstract at the same time to me. Let me also draw your attention to four more sessions with topics connected to the topic of our session: there are two more gender related sessions and two sessions on ergonomic issues in the programme. Call for abstract submission No. 148 “Innovative value added chains in forestry” Div 4.

Dear colleagues, I have the pleasure to inform you that the session on No. 148 “Innovative value added chains in forestry” in the Congress segment: All Division 4 (Forest Assessment, Modelling and Management) Meeting for upcoming IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress in Freiburg Germany, 19-22 September, 2017 is open for abstract submission at http://iufro2017.com/call-for-abstracts. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 November, 2016. If you want to discuss your ideas, please contact one of the organizers (see below). Session outline The value added - from harvesting, processing and using the potentials of (domestic) forest resources - to supply refined timber or non-timber products or to provide touristic or green care services, continues to increase the value of forested areas - a major part of Bio -Economy. The paradigm of the cascade usage between material and energetic usage and dividing high value from low value assortments - a particularity of forestry - is in line with the European strategy of Circular Economy for increasing resource-efficiency. Accordingly, this session aims to present outstanding case studies of innovative supply chains that foster rural-urban linkages and strengthen interdisciplinary interfaces. It will also discuss methodological approaches such as calculation schemes or the applicability of optimization and behavioral models to compute the value added for certain administrative units. Such multi-method approaches introduce interesting views for deriving a regional value added, by capturing the most relevant input-factors and outputs along the value added chain: from the supply of raw materials and the use of products - to the profit made and taxes paid. That process can consider horizontal and vertical interlinkages covering intermediate suppliers of individual actors across the production chain. Multiplier effects like that are extending the “chain concept” to a “network concept”. Therein effects of CO2 sequestration or additional value added from introducing carbon taxes could be included as well. Moreover, we welcome contributions providing insights regarding the competitiveness of regional and international value added chains or the latent conflict between microeconomic interests and macro-economic benefits as valuable inputs for the discussion. This Session situates, elaborates, and further explains the theory of value chain, with focus on interdisciplinary approach. It emphasizes crosscutting and motivations for supplementing the “buyer-driven” and “producer-driven” modes of global commodity chains in forestry. It considers horizontal and vertical interlinkages covering intermediate suppliers of individual actors across the production chains, as one of the elements of bioeconomy. The session is organised under IUFRO All Division Meeting 4 Forest Assessment, Modelling and Management, but it is not restricted to AMM and will feature interdisciplinary qualitative and quantitative research, combining ideas and framings from forestry as whole. The session is organised by researchers from different disciplines, who will also seek to include additional papers to widen the disciplinary and geographical coverage. The forestry sector must keep pace and adapt to these changes. The "Commonwealth" refers to the Commonwealth of Nations, an association of 53 sovereign nations that works together to achieve international goals such as Peace, Democracy and Consensus-building, Law, Human Rights and Development, Environmentally Sustainable Economic Development with greater trust and mutual understanding. Environment and forests are global resources and need to be focused upon by the global fraternity due to the pressures they are under as a result of the alarming growth in the human population, pressures that are being exacerbated by climate and environmental change. The year 2017 will be a key occasion for forestry professionals, academicians and all those interested in and associated with forestry sector in the Commonwealth; they will gather and share their experiences with a view to learn and develop a vision for the future that will involve inclusive and sustainable growth and development. The commonwealth forestry conferences have been held since 1920, when the first (Empire) Forestry Conference was held in London. Since then, the conferences have been held regularly to discuss various aspects of management of forests and focus the action on the changing priorities of the forestry sector. The 19th Commonwealth Forestry Conference is scheduled to be held at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, India from 3rd to 7th April, 2017. The ICFRE and FRI will be the Focal point of the conference, with support from MOEF & CC, Government of India and Commonwealth Forestry Association. August 2016 15:51 Betreff: Call for papers Dear Colleagues, The IUFRO Units 4.04.04 'Sustainable Forest Management Scheduling' and 4.04.06 'Nature Conservation Planning' are sponsoring a Special Issue on Decision Support for Integrated Policy Analysis to be published in Forest Policy and Economics (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/forest-policy-and-economics <http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability> ). This Special Issue originates from an initiative of Working Group 2 “Forestry modelling for integrated policy analysis” of COST Action FP1207 “Orchestrating forest-related policy analysis in Europe (ORCHESTRA)". It addresses a topic that is relevant to the five themes of the IUFRO 2015-2019 Strategy and that is transversal to Divisions 3, 4, 6 and 9. We welcome the submission of manuscripts reporting research of models, methods and/or decision support systems (DSS) that account for forest-related policy analysis at multiple levels and its application in real case studies. As currently, little information is available about decision support tools used for forest policy development, a special focus should be on the information provided by different types of decision support tools at different scales and on the benefits and limitations/challenges of the approaches presented. Particular attention should be paid to forest-related policy fields such as biodiversity, climate change, bioenergy, trade and green economy. Division 3 Podcasts

Colleagues, Division 3 Coordinator Woodam Chung has created a series of podcasts on topics relevant to Division 3. So far, 10 episodes have been published, the lastest two on an "Interdisciplinary Approach to Forest Supply Chain Management – Graduate Research Projects at Laval University", in which five graduate students at Laval University in Canada introduce their ongoing research projects in forest supply chain management. Their innovative research takes interdisciplinary approaches and leverages the FORAC’s well-established collaboration with forest industries.
