Dear colleagues,
due to the restrictions induced by the Covid-19 pandemic we move the 1st IALE-Russia Conference to online format. The Conference will open on 14 September 2020, its duration will depend on the number of submitted presentations. Online conference will follow the traditional pattern: parallel sessions will be organized along with the plenary talks; participants will be able to select presentations and switch between the sessions. Besides, online planform will give an opportunity to view all conference presentations, to create group chats and to communicate with authors of interest.
Owing to prevailing uncertainty we could not open registration on the previously planned dates, and we must carry it out now at short notice. Registration is open at our website https://iale-russia.ru/index.php/en/registration.
Please note, that currently we need first to collect the names of the participants, the abstracts of presentations can be submitted later. We kindly ask you to register for the Conference by 20 May 2020 г.
The theme “Landscape Science and Landscape Ecology: Considering Responses to Global Challenges” gains special relevance in our days, since we all face unpredictable and unforeseen challenges which already have influenced our lives including the organization of our conference. But we believe that with your contribution we will make a full-scale scientific event with a balanced and interesting program!
Kind regards,
Tatiana Kharitonova,

Assunto: ELI: Call for a Special Issue in the journal Social-Ecological
Practice Research

Dear all,
please find below a call for a Special Issue entitled "Open System
Modelling Frameworks toward a Better Understanding of Multi-Scale
Interactions in Socio-Ecological Systems" is published in the
Socio-Ecological Practice Research Journal
(https://www.springer.com/journal/42532). A detailed description is
online available
(https://resource-cms.springernature.com/springer-cms/rest/v1/content/173596…).
_Abstract_
Anthropogenically dominated landscapes bring up multi-faceted
socio-ecological systems where no monitoring technique or model platform
is sufficient to simulate and assess the often non-linear feedback loops
across scales. To advance the development of complex socio-ecological
modelling approaches, different knowledge sources, inter- and
transdisciplinary concepts along the edge of social, economic as well as
ecological sciences have to be combined in open modelling systems.
Converting modelling outcomes into sustainable resource management will
strengthen the understanding between short-running policy-impacts,
mid-term societal demands as well as long-lasting ecosystem health
trends. Studies may focus on smart technologies to bridge the gap
between scholars and practitioners. At the science-policy interface, the
Special Issue aims at gaining new insights in analyzing and modelling
human-nature interactions by addressing (I) significant findings about
socio-economic and environmental interactions, (II) identifying modern
model architectures or describing model applications as well as (III)
recommending management strategies to strengthen decison- and policy-makers.

Kind greetings and stay healthy!
Yours
Christine
