On January 17, join us to learn more about UBC Forestry’s Master of Urban Forestry Leadership program. This session is a great opportunity to learn about program requirements, eligibility, admissions and submitting a strong application for our professional master’s programs.
Taught entirely remote, the MUFL program is for practicing professionals who want to gain a competitive advantage – in only 14-months. With a focus in key areas such as urban forestry, strategic management and decision-making, this interdisciplinary professional master’s degree will give you the skills to take your career in new directions. An optional field experience in Europe complements the online program and provides opportunities to liaise with fellow students and urban forestry leaders.

Master of Science in Tropical Forestry with classes starting in October
2023. The course is taught in English language at the Technische Universität
Dresden, one of the 11 German Universities of Excellence.
Since its inception in 1995, this unique 2-year master's degree program has
garnered international recognition through its focus on social, ecological
and economic aspects of tropical forest management. This is an excellent
opportunity to study in an international, intercultural, and dynamic working
environment offered at the reputed Chair of Tropical and International
Forestry that offers integrated specialization in tropical ecology, forest
and development policy and resource management. In our programme, you will
learn from and work alongside a competent academic and research team, who
will supervise your field research in international tropical or sub-tropical
contexts. Drawing on a century-long expertise in forest sciences, our
programme puts emphasis on the ecological, technical as well as social
science dimensions in forestry. Special attention is given to the
socio-economic as well as socio-political aspects during the education. At
the end of the study program, interested graduates with outstanding merit
will have a chance to enter our PhD program and join our team of
researchers. You will also benefit from our competent alumni network of over

is developing session proposals for the XXVI IUFRO World Congress 2024 –

This is a great opportunity to engage in industry-aligned teaching, and highlights some of the amazing work that continues to be done here at the faculty. These 4 micro-certificate programs include the following:
Climate Vulnerability and Adaptation (CVA)<https://forestry.ubc.ca/programs/certificate/climate-micro-certificate/> provides forest professionals with an understanding of climate science, vulnerability assessments, adaptation development, and how it is applied to management and business case adaptation.
Co-Management of Natural Resources (CNR)<https://forestry.ubc.ca/programs/certificate/co-management-natural-resource…> explores how to advance co-management initiatives, institutional and relational change, and intercultural understanding at the nexus of Indigenous and Western Knowledge systems.

While all programs are listed to be 8-weeks long, we also offer flexibility to be completed at your convenience, with the option to spread out courses over a span of 2 years. As UBC Forestry continues to address pressing issues related to justice, climate change and sustainable forest management, we are thrilled to be able to offer this online opportunity to learn, reflect and grow with students from all backgrounds and professions.
