Dear colleagues
We remind you of our web survey about the effects of forest
certification on biodiversity conservation in tropical forests. If you
did not have the time yet, we invite you to please visit
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/V6CJBK6 and complete this survey. It
takes only ten minutes. We intend to close the survey by 15 June.
Please also share with colleagues. It is open to everyone. We are
especially keen to have more input from forest managers!
Through this anonymous survey, we try to obtain opinions and
perspectives from forest management and conservation researchers,
practitioners and other experts on the following broad topics:
*The effectiveness of certification for biodiversity conservation
*The objectives of biodiversity management in tropical forests
*Current management and certification practices
These are important topics and we want to hear your views. The more
input we get the more valuable the survey will be.
Background: The European Tropical Forest Research Network (ETFRN) plans
to issue an ETFRN News about experiences and best practices regarding
forest management certification and the conservation of forest
biodiversity. The editors of the ETFRN News (Douglas Sheil, Jack Putz
and undersigned) are conducting a brief survey to accompany the papers
contributed by authors for this news issue.
Thank you very much for your collaboration, and again we request you to
please forward to colleagues.
Best regards and many thanks for all the input!
On behalf of the editorial team
