To honor the 60th anniversary of the passing of Rachel Carson (author of
the seminal book “Silent Spring” and pioneer in the global environmental
movement) and celebrate the 20^th anniversary of the Center for Systems
Integration and Sustainability <https://www.canr.msu.edu/csis/> (CSIS)
at Michigan State University, CSIS is going to organize *Rachel Carson
Distinguished Lecture Anniversary Series (online) in 2024, *with support
from the Gunnerus Award in Sustainability Science

some of the world's prominent scholars in various disciplines. The vast
majority of the lectures will be held on Thursdays at 9:00 am ET (for
one hour).

the Business School of Columbia University, will deliver a Rachel Carson
Distinguished Lecture

Professor Heal has made significant contributions to economic theory and
environmental economics. He currently explores developments in energy

the National Academy of Sciences and an honorary doctorate from the
Université de Paris Dauphine.
