The CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS for the XXV IUFRO WORLD CONGRESS in
Curitiba, Brazil, is now open. We kindly invite IUFRO Landscape
Ecology WP members to submit session proposals in topics of their
interest. Please let the Working Party officers know about it so we
can better arrange sessions related to topics in forest landscape
ecology in the congress programme.
As stated in the call, the involvement of two or more IUFRO units
(Divisions, Task Forces, Research Groups and Working Parties) will be
considered as an evaluation criterion in the selection process.
The WP will also submit a session proposal to gather up WP members and
overarching contributions within the field.

The University of Iowa Department of Geographical & Sustainability Sciences
invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for
academic year 2018/2019. We seek candidates with the ability to teach
introductory physical geography and introductory climatology. Additional
course assignments will depend on the candidates expertise and will be
consistent with the programmatic needs of the department. Courses in one or
more of the following areas are of particular interest: wetlands, landscape
ecology, water resources, sustainability, and environmental impact
assessment. The ability to teach both lower and upper division courses is
desirable, with a normal load of three courses per semester. The appointment
will begin in August 2018 with a possible one year extension depending on
funding and need.
A PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Geography or related field is
required at the time of appointment.
