As you may remember, COPYTREE is chaired by Pr. Stefaan Werbrouck (Univ.

of in vitro cloning of woody plants, its public acceptance, risk assessment
and the promotion of commercial applications. This action is therefore

Pr. Stéphane Maury, WG1 leader of the EU COST action
<https://www.epicatch.eu/> EPI-CATCH (Epigenetic mechanisms of crop
adaptation to climate change) would like to advertise our memberships about
the 3rd EPI-CATCH Conference Epigenetics in Crop Improvement, from
Mechanisms to Applications to be organized 30 May 1 June 2023 in Sofia,
Bulgaria. The conference will host sessions on plant epigenetic responses to
environmental stresses, underlying epigenetic mechanisms, advances and new
approaches in plant epigenetics for crop improvement in the context of
global warming. Of course, a topic of high relevance for breeding and
propagating forest trees!

Full-time position announcement : Propagation Scientist (Rotorua, New Zealand)
Dr. Jana Krajňáková, Senior Researcher for tissue culture and Project Leader at Scion, Rotorua, New Zealand, would like to announce that a full-time position (Propagation Scientist) is now being launched (Sept. 28) within the Plant Physiology and Development Research Group.
The recipient will lead and develop propagation research at Scion for both exotic and native forestry species with a focus on mechanisation, automation and sustainability of nursery systems. The position has also an important dimension in building strong relationships with third-party stakeholders and Māori communities towards science-led solutions for the forestry value chain. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced forest propagation scientist to work closely with industry and to deliver science that contributes to better environmental, social and economic outcome for New Zealand.

Dr. David Breton (Nestlé S.A., Tours, France) would like to inform us that a permanent job position for a Plant Biology Technician with skills in biotechnologies (especially in vitro culture) has just been announced (April 29, 2021).
The position is located at the Nestlé Plant Science Research Unit located in Tours (France) and requires a first experience (internship or employment) in the field of in vitro culture technologies applied to (woody) plants (micropropagation, including somatic embryogenesis) and microbiology. Within the Coffee and Cocoa Department, the job position will be in support to breeding projects to ensure the production and maintenance of in vitro plant cultures for both operational and research purposes.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers, authorities, representatives of industry and forest plant producers to discuss current state and prospects of conifer vegetative propagation. The topics included in the program cover not only research achievements, but also legislation and forest owner views on reforestation materials produced by somatic embryogenesis (SE) i.e. by tissue culture. Visits to Luke's SE technology platform and field experiments (e.g. SE pines, SE spruces, ornamental spruce collection) are also scheduled by videos.
