Dear colleagues, As of 1st August, the European Forest Institute (EFI) will employ a new Principal Scientist for Forest Governance. The main responsibility assigned to this post will be to develop EFI research activities on Forest Governance as reflected in the new EFI Strategy (http://www.efi.int/portal/about_efi/efi_strategy_2025/ ). Furthermore, it will contribute to creating stronger synergies between the EFI FLEGT-REDD Unit and other relevant EFI research units, projects and associate members. As of August 2017 I will fill this post and will work for EFI where I am leading this specific task of developing the EFI Forest Governance Programme. In order to do so I will quit working for the renowned Chair of Forest and Nature Conservation Policy of Göttingen University/Germany, where I spent a number of scientifically highly fruitful and instructive years.
