[IUFRO Div 4] COST Call for Ideas: Greening the Forest Sector Engineering with ICT

Dear Colleagues: COST is currently inviting researchers to submit proposals on green Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the forest sector. A Green Engineering Camp (GEC) that will take place in Plitvice National Park, Croatia, 2-6 July 2012, http://www.cost.eu/events/gec, where outstanding proposals will be presented. The GEC's main aim is to collect and award innovative ideas using Green ICT in real-life applications, especially related to current and future challenges in the European forest sector. It will encourage intelligent use and development of ICT to increase environmental efficiency in forests, forestry, forest industries, logistics etc. This is an excellent initiative, but it relies entirely on a sufficient number of proposals. You are invited to submit proposals and/or distribute the call text widely, not only to foresters and forest institutions but also to ICT and others.
