Dear Colleagues, I am please to invite you to this side event organized by Cirad, FAO and Cifor on concession in tropical forests. The main objectove of this side event is to discuss and to evaluate the future prospects of concession-based forestry, firstly based on an analysis of specific challenges the forest concession forestry now faces in the three major tropical forest regions (Amazon Basin, Congo Basin and South East Asia) and, secondly by comparing the design and implementation of forest concessions in the three regions where tropical forests occur (Central Africa, Tropical America and South east Asia).
