Yale ISTF Conference: Envisioning the future of tropical forests: the roles of feedbacks, interconnectedness, and adaptation

[cid:image002.jpg@01D90EFF.3224C460]The Yale Chapter of the International Society of Tropical Foresters (ISTF) will host its 29th Annual Conference titled: "Envisioning the future of tropical forests: the roles of feedbacks, interconnectedness, and adaptation". The conference will take place on February 2 - 4th, 2023. Registration is now live at https://cglink.me/2dA/r1902026.
The Yale ISTF Chapter is dedicated to the advancement of tropical forest studies at the Yale School of the Environment, formerly known as the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. The ISTF conference has been hosted at Yale for 28 years and addresses a range of socio-ecological issues related to tropical forests. ISTF 2023 will weave together myriad perspectives on the current state of tropical forest feedbacks, shedding light on how these processes are changing now and are predicted to change in the future. The conference will facilitate a space to discuss the importance of interconnectedness and adaptation amidst anthropogenic-driven climate change, collaborating across fields to build solutions for a more resilient future in the tropics and beyond.
The conference will feature keynote addresses by:
1. Dr. Juliette Biao Koudenoukpo, Director of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) Secretariat
1. Mina Susana Setra, Deputy to Secretary General of the Indigenous Peoples' Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) on Social Culture Affairs
1. Dr. Pablo Pacheco, Global Forests Lead Scientist at World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
The conference will be held in a virtual format, and the full agenda will be available in the coming weeks. We hope that the hybrid format will allow wider access and flexibility for attendees around the world, especially for participants and speakers that have historically faced difficulties with travel to the United States.
