Dear colleagues,
the Organizing Committee of the Joint IUFRO-SECF Meeting "Adaptative
silviculture of complex pine stands: challenges for forest persistence",
to be celebrated in Madrid on April 2027, has decided to extend abstract
submission deadline until 18th October.
We remind you the proposed sessions, with some indications of topics
that fall within the session's objectives:
1. Vulnerability and adaptive capacity of pine forests
Keywords: decay, resistance/resilience to biotic/abiotic perturbances,
genetic to adapt pine stands, post-fire recovery
2. Adaptive management of pure and mixed pine stands
Keywords: silviculture, eco-hidrology, post-fire regeneration
treatments, uneven-aged stands
3. Non native pine species as alternative management strategy
Use of non-native pine species from a region in commercial or protective
plantations, effects of these established plantations, or the
replacement of these pine species with alternative species that are
better adapted
4. Browsing as a challenge to forest regeneration in pure and mixed pine
stands
Browsing in regenerated pine or mixed stands
5. Agroforestry with pine species
Also non-wooded forest products in pine stands, or substitutions of pine
stands with agroforestry alternatives
