Dear Sheila, It is not clear to me what session you would like us to contribute an abstract to. There is currently no session for the Meliaceae. Are you suggesting we develop an abstract and write in a session called “Research advances for the Meliaceae”? Please advise how you foresee our being able to to develop one. The deadline for session proposals was June 30, 2016, and I missed that (!). But we still have an opportunity to organize a session on Research Advances for the Meliaceae if sufficient abstracts are submitted for such a session. For the abstract to be considered for a Meliaceae session, please submit under Theme 3: Forests and Forest-Based Products for a Greener Future, and then 42 - Open Session. The IUFRO Meliaceae Working Party is a forum for the exchange of information for all interested parties on sustainable management and genetic resources for timber species of the Meliaceae. For the Meliaceae session, it would be good to cover a range of advances in Meliaceae management in natural forests and plantations, ecology, genetics, insects and their control, and uses of Meliaceae species in different contexts such as afforestation and watershed protection, among other topics.
