Full Conference Registration (Sun Oct 8th – Thu Oct 12th)
Regular early bird rate – $410 USD (By August 30, 2023)
Regular rate – $470 USD (August 31 - September 7, 2023)
The conference registration fee includes the welcome reception (Sunday, Oct. 8), attendance to all conference sessions and field trip (Monday, October 9 - Thursday, October 12), one conference dinner, one lunch and four coffee breaks. Travel arrangements and accommodations are not included and are the responsibility of the participant.
If you registered for the optional post-conference field trip (organized tour in the Karst Area of the Slovenian-Italian border), the registration fee includes transfer to Slovenia, accommodations with breakfast, two packed lunches, and two dinners.
Post Conference Tour Registration (Thu 12th – Sat 14th Oct)
Regular rate – $375 USD
The post-conference tour registration includes accommodations with breakfast (the number of single rooms will be limited), 2 × lunch, 2× dinner and transport, with the tour ending in Gorizia, Italy. Limited availability (30 registrants).
Post conference tour agenda:
Oct 12 – transfer from Padova to Slovenia, dinner (optional wine tasting)
Oct 13 – Karst region (fire management and post fire restoration), visit the Škocian cave UNESCO world heritage site (lunch and dinner)
Oct 14 – 250 years of forest management (Trnovski gozd – 250 years of fir-beech mountain forest management), Urban forests (end of tour late afternoon in Gorizia)
Registration Closes: Sep 7th.

Full refund minus 10% if canceled by Sat 9th Sep
50% refund if canceled between Sun 10th Sep and Sat 16th Sep
No refund if canceled on Sun 17th Sep or later

Research Fellow/Postdoc Fellow
The Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES)<https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/er2wefpgaq6l99srrqf5u/V5MLedits-IES-DL-Broch…> at the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy has openings for exciting, cutting-edge, and problem-focused postdoctoral/research fellow positions in public policy and/or global environmental governance. We are looking for candidates whose research focuses on specific topics such as climate change, biodiversity, sustainable livelihoods, water and oceans, and who are familiar with sociological, historical, and rational choice institutionalism, path dependency analysis, policy mixes, and policy design. We are also seeking candidates who are experts in global and transnational environmental governance intuitions and processes, including policy innovations. Successful applicants will contribute to IES mission to advance “fit for purpose policy analysis”, and its emphasis on policy design capacity building and policy learning.
Successful applicants will contribute to IES’ burgeoning Climate Policy Design Lab (CPDL) and/or its Center for Water Policy (CWP). The candidate will lead policy-relevant research projects, take responsibility for project and grant management, and contribute to stakeholder liaison and outreach of the Institute. All candidates should have a strong willingness to contribute to IES’s mission and to engage with new topics and research tools.

Responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and lead research projects under IES’s various research programmes
· Prepare high-quality research papers on topics related to IES’s core research themes suitable for publication in high-tier academic journals

· Provide support for IES’s events and outreach activities
· Engage with policy and research communities in Singapore, Asia, and around the world
· As problem focused environment and sustainability analysis requires integrating a diversity of knowledge and research, we welcome applicants who specialize in either qualitative or quantitative methods.
Requirements
* Ph.D. in Public Policy, Political Science, Global Affairs, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
* Excellent analytical skills with knowledge of anticipatory policy design and practice, including path dependency analysis
* Preference for those with good and relevant publication records/working papers
* Excellent verbal and written English
* Good time management skills and ability to multi-task effectively
