Progress in Small-scale Forestry

forests play a crucial role in the wider
society. For many forested countries, they
significantly contribute to the economy
through forest-based businesses, providing
rural livelihoods and ecosystem services.

Restoration (FLR): Stakeholder Views and
Potential Synergies
IUFRO held a hybrid session
on 11 November 2022 at the Global Landscapes
Forum (GLF) alongside COP27 in Sharm
El-Sheik, Egypt. Speakers Stephanie
Mansourian, Pablo Pacheco, Michael Kleine
and Nathália Nascimento highlighted linkages
between REDD+ and FLR and shared insights on

A smart panel production
plant is fully equipped with non-destructive
sensors able to identify problems and
measure material properties quickly and

symposium on 12 November 2022 was held as
the 10th Anniversary International Symposium
of the Japanese Society of Forest Genetics
and Tree Breeding. The importance and high

breeding were highlighted in four

Sector: Workshop with Journalists
Forest Europe in
collaboration with IUFRO, Migrapreneur and
2811 organized a workshop in Berlin on 27
October 2022 that brought together three
experts on forest employment and education
and eleven journalists from eight countries.

100th Anniversary

was founded in Florence by the master of
