Visiting Assistant Professor, Physical Geography

 

The University of Iowa Department of Geographical & Sustainability Sciences invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for academic year 2018/2019. We seek candidates with the ability to teach introductory physical geography and introductory climatology. Additional course assignments will depend on the candidate’s expertise and will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department. Courses in one or more of the following areas are of particular interest: wetlands, landscape ecology, water resources, sustainability, and environmental impact assessment.  The ability to teach both lower and upper division courses is desirable, with a normal load of three courses per semester. The appointment will begin in August 2018 with a possible one year extension depending on funding and need.

 

A PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Geography or related field is required at the time of appointment.
