Luke (Finland) is hosting a joint HealGenCAR-MULTIFOREVER Workshop (webinar) on “Conifer Vegetative Propagation, Multiplied conifer seed – prospects of somatic embryogenesis (SE)”.

 

The Webinar is organized on May 26-27, 2021 (2-5pm CET each day). See the Workshop program.

 

The workshop is organized jointly by HealGenCAR, the Centre of Advanced Research in Forest Health and Forest Genetics to Enhance Bioeconomy financed by Nordic Forest research (SNS) and, MULTIFOREVER, a multinational project “towards intensification of conifer production through multi-varietal forestry based on SE” financed through the EU’s Horizon 2020 ERA-NET Cofund Action “ForestValue – Innovating the forest-based bioeconomy”.

 

The workshop aims to bring together researchers, authorities, representatives of industry and forest plant producers to discuss current state and prospects of conifer vegetative propagation. The topics included in the program cover not only research achievements, but also legislation and forest owner views on reforestation materials produced by somatic embryogenesis (SE) i.e. by tissue culture. Visits to Luke's SE technology platform and field experiments (e.g. SE pines, SE spruces, ornamental spruce collection) are also scheduled by videos.
