Subject: Conference 2013 - IUFRO 7.01 Impacts of air pollution and climate change on forests / Genetic aspects

Dear colleagues,

In September 2013, the conference “Vegetation Response to Climate Change and Air Pollution – Unifying Evidence and Research across Northern and Southern Hemisphere" will be organized jointly by the IUFRO Research Group 7.01.00 “Impacts of air pollution and climate change on forest ecosystems”, Research Group 7.01.02 "Mechanisms of action and indicator development" and "Programa de Pós Graduação em Ecologia de Biomas Tropicais - UFOP". It will be held in Ilhéus, Brazil on September 1-6, 2013. 

The conference web site: http://www.iufro2013.ufop.br Registration and abstract submission are open from February 1 to May 1.

According to the agreement with organizers, we will organize a session “Genetic aspects of climate change and air pollution” and plan to have 5- 7 oral presentations. 

We would therefore like to encourage you to apply for an oral or poster presentation dealing with genetic research related to abiotic stresses and climate change scenarios. Please send a tentative title in reply to this mail as soon as possible, so that we can prepare the aforementioned session. Please be aware that we should not miss this opportunity for presentation of the genetic aspects at the multidisciplinary IUFRO conference, staying in the focus of cooperation related to the air pollution and climate change effects on forests.
