First Ever IUFRO World Congress in Latin America Places Focus on Cooperation for Sustainable Development

Program Highlights
Over the course of the five-day high-quality scientific program participants benefited from 350 scientific sessions - including five plenary and 20 sub-plenary sessions - with 1648 oral presentations, and 964 posters addressing a great diversity of forest and tree-related topics within the scope of five main themes. Interacting with Stakeholders
The IUFRO 2019 Congress offered many program elements to promote interaction between the diverse groups of participants in addition to the technical sessions. Among other things, a "Forest Science for Future" pledge was drafted for participants to sign. More…
Students
The large participation of students was a special feature of this Congress and contributed considerably to its success. Several scientific sessions addressed education issues, and there were various opportunities for students to participate in mentoring activities. More…
IUFRO-SPDC
IUFRO's Special Programme for Development of Capacities (IUFRO-SPDC) supported the participation of over 100 early and mid-career scientists from economically disadvantaged countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Launch of GFEP Video

During the IUFRO World Congress in Curitiba, Brazil, the YSI 2020 was launched by the Coordinator, Daniel Boehnke of IUFRO Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
