Dear Colleagues,

SAVE THE DATE!! 1-4 OCTOBER 2018 IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA

CONFERENCE:   Preparing Europe for invasion by the beetles emerald ash borer and bronze birch borer, two major tree-killing pests

As part of our Euphresco project on emerald ash borer and bronze birch borer (PREPSYS – www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/prepsys,) we have organised a conference on how Europe can prepare for potential invasion by the beetles. The conference will be held at BFW, Vienna from 1-4 October 2018. Details are in the attached announcement.

The conference is sponsored by OECD Cooperative Research Programme and by the UK Government Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).

Apart from an outstanding list of invited keynote speakers, there are a limited number of oral presentation slots, as well as a poster paper session.

The Proceedings will be published in a special issue of the journal Forestry.

We hope that you can make the meeting and we look forward to seeing you in Vienna in October. Please email if you are interested and we will keep you informed of progress. Registration for the meeting will open in the near future, along with details of travel, hotels and the venue.

With best wishes,

Hugh Evans, Gernot Hoch and Mariella Marzano
