Hello everyone,

There is a M.S. Assistantship in Silviculture and Applied Forest Ecology available for qualified students at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT.  The project will investigate stand and landscape level factors that contribute to the susceptibility of northeastern pitch pine forests to southern pine beetle.  The project is a great opportunity for a student interested in forestry, forest ecology, or forest entomology.  Field work will be primarily focused in the Central Pine Barrens of Long Island, New York.  Please forward this announcement to anyone you think may be interested in this project.  The attached flyer contains more information and point of contact (Tony D’Amato, UVM).

Thanks,
Kevin
