Dear Colleagues and Friends,
 

The next IUFRO All-Division5 Conference is to be held in Estoril, Lisbon, July 8-13th 2012.

IUFRO, along with the Technical University of Lisbon/ ISA would like to extend an invitation to the entire forest sector to participate in this international event.

Forests play a vital role for rural as well as urban populations all over the world. They are an essential natural resource providing multiple benefits to people.

Their conservation and sustainable management are closely linked with global issues such as food supply and environmental protection.

Scientific knowledge is needed all over the world to effectively address these issues globally and regionally and provide the basis for political decisions.

Close international cooperation in forest science and related disciplines is required to enable forests to satisfy the manifold human needs in a sustainable way.

This conference is designed to bring together researchers in forest products and related fields from around the world. Discussion will embrace progress and needs in research to meet rapidly increasing demands for all kinds of forest products, while maintaining the forest as a source of such products and a resource for social, economic and environmental benefits.

For further information on this upcoming event and instructions for authors, please visit the conference website at www.iufro2012.org and complete the form "Expression of interest" under the menu " Call for papers".
 
Abstracts should be submitted as soon as possible in 2011, but not later than 28th February 2012. Abstracts received by 30th September 2011 will be listed in the preliminary program and abstracts received by 23rd Feb listed in the final program.
