ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (forskarassistent) in
Forest entomology with the focus on insect pests
The Department of Ecology conducts research and education in applied
ecology: effects of human activity and environmental change on pest
species, wildlife management and biodiversity.
Duties: The person appointed to this position will conduct
research of high relevance for the protection of forest trees against
insect damage of economic importance. This research will, for instance,
deal with population dynamics of pest insects, interactions between tree
– herbivore – predators, pest management systems, analysis of damage
risks or consequences of damage for tree growth and economic value.
The primary duty of the Assistant Professor is to develop the science
within the subject area. The Assistant Professor should also strive to
get a broader knowledge of forest entomology, and contribute to the
education of students and to the extension service.
Eligibility: Applicants should have a PhD degree or a foreign
degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctorate. Priority will be given to
applicants who have been awarded their PhD degree at most five years
before the last date for applications.
Assessment criteria: Particular emphasis will be placed on
scientific qualifications within the subject area.
The position is full-time and will be granted for a period of four years,
starting as soon as possible.

application: CV including a publication list, PhD diploma, copies of no
more than five publications, a description of previous research and other
activities of relevance for the position (maximum two pages), and a
description of planned research that the applicant intends to carry out
within this position (one to two pages). Names and addresses of at least
two persons able to provide references for the candidate should also be
provided.
