Sande had friends throughout the world.  In addition to being a classic forest pathologist, he personally touched the lives of many students.  One of his passions in life was promoting the legacy of Dr. George Washington Carver, including encouraging opportunities for minorities to realize the full potential of their contributions to science and humanity.  To this end, Margo and their children intend to establish a specially named memorial fund at ISU to assist with continuation of this legacy.  Contributions to the Iowa State University Foundation in Memory of Sande McNabb will go toward this purpose.  [the website for ISU Foundation donations is https://secure2.convio.net/isuf/site/Donation2?idb=1983929057&df_id=3180&3180.donation=form1]
