Would you pose this question to the forest pathology group?

Is anyone aware of any research (currently underway or completed) which confirms or disproves the pathogenicity of Setomelanomma holmii on spruce?  This is the fungus which is associated with the spruce needle drop (SNEED) phenomenon.
