Eighth International Faustmann Symposium – Managing Forests in the 21st Century: Economics and the Roles of Risk and Uncertainty

Call for Abstracts

Corvallis, Oregon – October 6-7, 2026

Dear colleagues

The Eighth International Faustmann Symposium, held every four years, will take place October 6–7, 2026 at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA, with an optional field trip on October 8. The symposium explores the economics of long-term resource management, building on Martin Faustmann’s 1849 framework.

We welcome contributions addressing topics such as:

• Extensions, applications, and critiques of the Faustmann formula
• Forest and resource economics under risk and uncertainty
• Economic and ecological modeling under environmental and policy fluctuations
• Long-term forest management, sustainability, and climate adaptation
• Decision support systems and integrated approaches linking economics, ecology, and policy
• Broader topics in forest resource economics and applications beyond forestry

Submissions: Extended abstracts (oral presentations only).
