This is a reminder of the upcoming IUFRO Risk Analysis (4.04.07) meeting in Freiburg, Germany; 21-23 April, 2016.

The meeting is hosted by the Institute of Forestry, University of Freiburg.

PERCEPTION ==> PREDICTION ==> ACTION:
Managing risk in uncertain times.

This conference will bring together leading experts from the international scientific community to discuss:

·  the risks posed to the forest resource by our changing climate

v natural disturbances (including insects, pathogens, fire, extreme weather)

v post-disturbance (natural and anthropogenic) silvics

v species range and biodiversity

·  how these risks are perceived and predicted in the forest science and management community

·  how risk and uncertainty can be incorporated in the decision-making process to increase the likelihood that the future realized ecosystem services match our stated goals
